To rehabilitate women and children rescued from human trafficking, the state government is planning to set up more rehabilitation homes under 'Ujjawala Scheme'.
"Around 400 victims of human trafficking are rehabilitated in 10 Ujjawala homes across Andhra Pradesh. We are now planning to have one rehabilitation home in each district to give proper care to trafficking victims," Women Development and Child Welfare Department's Principal Secretary Nilam Sawhney said.
Speaking after inaugurating a national conference on 'Reducing Gender Disparities Across States in India' at the Administrative Staff College here, she said state government had come up with a comprehensive policy for anti-trafficking.
