Puducherry: The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry will conduct entrance exam in different parts of the country on May 27 for selection of students to first MBBS course for the 2012-2013 academic year.
JIPMER dean Dr KS Reddy told PTI on Thursday that although the first MBBS course has 145 seats, the entrance test would however be confined to fill 127 seats only as the Central government would nominate 18 candidates.
Around 40,000 candidates would sit for the entrance test, he said.
The test would be held simultaneously in Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Kolkata, New Delhi, Puducherry, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada.
Mr Reddy said the result would be released almost a week after the exam.
