Church Street at the heart of Bengaluru, where a blast on Sunday claimed a life, has finally been opened by the police. The areas adjoining the blast site had been sealed off since Sunday night.
The bomb disposal squad and the forensics team had been looking for evidence.
At Church Street, a man told the NDTV team that he had been unable to visit his bank as the road had been shut down by police. Staying home would have meant letting terrorists achieve their target, he said.
If the residents of the city chose to live in fear, they would stay inside all their lives, added a young woman.
An NRI couple visiting from England said they felt safe and would not hesitate to walk in the area.
There was still increased police presence at the blast site outside the Coconut Grove Restaurant - the whole stretch of pavement is still barricaded. Investigators from Tamil Nadu are also at the site to gather information.
The 38-year-old woman who died, Bhavani, was visiting from Chennai.
The bomb - a low intensity Improvised Explosive Device made with shrapnel, ammonium nitrate and fitted with a timer mechanism - had been hidden behind a row of potted plants.
Both the Union government and the state government have confirmed it was a terror attack. No group or organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
