BJP wins four seats in Karnataka Legislative Council polls

Bangalore: The ruling BJP in Karnataka has bagged four seats and Janata Dal (S) one in the elections held to six seats of the Legislative Council from Graduates and Teachers constituencies.

The Congress drew a blank in Sundays election, with results in five constituencies declared on Wednesday.

The BJP winners are YA Narayanaswamy from the South-East Teachers constituency, former Higher Education Minister and Legislative Council Chairman DH Shankaramurthy from South-West Graduates constituency, Ganesh Karnik from South-West Teachers constituency and Amarnath Patil  from North-East Graduates constituency.

Marithibbe Gowda of JD (S) was declared elected from South Teachers constituency, official sources said.
