Body pieces found in bags at Vizag station
Vizag: There was early morning shock and sensation at the Visakhapatnam railway station as two bags filled with a body chopped into pieces was found abandoned on platform number five. These bags were discovered by sanitary staff at half past seven this morning.

Additional DGP VSK Kaumudi who heads the railway police said the body was of a male, about 35 years, and may be 2-3 days old. There were no clothes. The body seems to have been chopped with a sharp weapon. Post-mortem is being conducted at the local King George's Hospital.

The police in now investigating when the body may have been dumped on the platform. Mr Kaumudi said it is quite likely that it was pushed out of a passing train.

Details of the body, including the face, height, age and also that of the airbag and vegetable bag in which the body parts were found, are being sent to the district police chiefs in the neighbouring areas and states, as also the CID offices, to crosscheck with persons reported missing.

A case under IPC 302 and also 201, for destruction of evidence, has been registered.
