Thiruvananthapuram:
With few leaders backing him, Congress Lok Sabha member Shashi Tharoor from Thiruvananthapuram may find it difficult to find a cabinet berth in the reshuffle scheduled for Sunday in New Delhi.
"I do not think Mr Tharoor's name would figure in the list of minister's to be sworn in tomorrow," was the response of a top party state official, who did not wish to be named.
The name of five-time Congress MP Kodikunnil Suresh is doing rounds in the media as having been cleared for a cabinet berth.
Mr Suresh won from the reserved constituency of Mavelikera in Alappuzha district and is reported to be close to Defence Minister AK Antony.
When Mr Tharoor was sworn in as a Minister of State for External Affairs in 2009, it upset Kerala's Congress leaders. It was only when he was asked to step down in the wake of allegations from the opposition that he lobbied for an IPL franchise for Kochi did some Congress leaders heave a sigh of relief.
