Bangalore:
A cannon and a cannon ball belonging to the Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan period was unearthed by the workers belonging Bangalore Metro Rail Coporation Limited (BMRCL) during excavation in the busy K R Market area of the city in the wee hours on Thursday, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) sources said.
BMRCL immediately informed the ASI in Bangalore, who took possession of the cannon and the cannon ball weighing 10 kilograms.
"There is every possibility of finding out such materials belonging to the medieval Bangalore in this part of the city, but unless and until excavation is done, it will not surface", T M Keshava, Assisitant Superintending Archaeologist told reporters.
"It is now government's property. It has to decide which museum it should go to", he said.
