Nara Lokesh had compared K Chandrasekhar Rao to Adolf Hitler on Twitter
Hyderabad:
A case was today registered against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh for his tweet in which he allegedly compared Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to Adolf Hitler, police said.
A complaint was lodged two days back with L B Nagar Police by V Ramanarasimha Goud, a leader of Telangana Rashtra Samiti Vidyarthi Vibhagam - the students' wing of TRS - who sought an FIR registered against Lokesh for "defaming the Telangana chief minister through his tweets by equating him with German dictator Adolf Hitler".
Goud said in another tweet Lokesh alleged that the Telangana government was run by rowdies, a police officer said.
"The complaint was sent for legal opinion. After getting the reply, a case was booked against Lokesh on charges of intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace (Section 504) and false statements and rumours circulated to cause public mischief (505) of IPC besides under relevant sections of IT Act," L B Nagar police station Inspector E Srinivas Reddy said.
Asked if Lokesh will be questioned, the police officer said the matter will now be transferred to the Cyber Police station for further investigation.
Further probe in the case is on.
