CBI court informed about Jagan Mohan Reddy's indefinite hunger strike
Hyderabad: A special CBI court hearing a quid pro quo deals case involving Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was today informed by the Chanchalguda jail authorities about the indefinite hunger strike launched by him since Sunday.

"He (Jagan) is continuing with his fast. He has so far not informed (written communication) to jail authorities about his fasting," a senior jail official told PTI.

The fast, launched by Jagan for seeking "justice for Seemandhra people", in the wake of Centre's move to divide Andhra Pradesh entered the fourth day today.

Jagan has been lodged in Chanchalguda jail since May 27 last year after his arrest by CBI on corruption charges.

Jagan's mother and YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijayamma had called off her indefinite fast opposing proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh on August 24 after she was forcibly shifted to a hospital in Guntur.

She had undertaken the hunger strike in protest of the manner in which the decision to divide the state was taken by the Central government last month.

Jagan had resigned as Kadapa MP and Vijayamma as MLA in the wake of the protests in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions against the move to create Telangana.
