Chennai:
DMK chief M Karunanidhi today said the Centre should come forward to explain a series of questions posed by Madras High Court on the Right to Education Act, saying that alone would satisfy the purpose of enacting the legislation.
Referring to a recent observation by the High Court where it sought clarification on issues such as which institute a parent can choose for admission if there was more than one school in the neighbourhood, he said the court had posed some "good questions."
"The Central government should come forward to give due and good explanation to these questions. Only then will the purpose of enacting the legislation be met," Mr Karunanidhi, whose party is a key constituent of the ruling UPA said while replying to a set of questions in party mouthpiece Murasoli.
