Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu has cancelled his visit to Jaipur on Friday to attend the swearing-in of Vasundhara Raje as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
As the draft Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2013 was hurriedly sent to the state Assembly on Thursday, Mr Chandrababu cancelled his Jaipur trip at the last minute, TDP sources said.
Ms Raje had invited Chandrababu for her swearing-in. Mr Naidu was supposed to have a meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Jaipur, amid indications that the TDP was cozying up to the BJP for reviving their alliance.
The TDP chief wanted to discuss with Mr Modi the "unconstitutional and high-handed" manner in which the UPA government was seeking to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh, TDP sources said.
