Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is in Davos to attend the World Economic Forum, met Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak during which he explained the opportunities for investments in the state.
Mr Naidu explained the rapport which he had with Malaysia's former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad and how the later had helped in the past for the development of Andhra Pradesh, a state government release said on Friday.
Naidu informed Razak about the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and growth prospects for the state (post bifurcation) as "gate way of India" on the East Coast, it said.
The cultivation of oil palm is highest in Andhra Pradesh in India, Naidu said.
Highlighting his government's plans to promote Buddhist tourism (linking the different places of Buddhist significance in AP) and also temple tourism in AP, Naidu urged the Malaysian leader to help in development of tourism and infrastructure.
Responding to Naidu's request, the Malaysian Prime Minister said a team would be sent to AP after receiving proposals about investment opportunities in the state, the release added.
