Chennai:
Three persons were today held at the airport in Chennai for allegedly smuggling 5 kg gold valued at around Rs 1.75 crore.
Customs officials searched them on suspicion when they returned from Bangkok early this morning and seized the gold, airport sources said.
3 kg of gold was recovered from their baggage, while the rest was found concealed in their bodies, they added.
