Coimbatore:
A bomb threat call proved to be hoax today after a thorough search at the "Amma" canteen at the old bus stand area in nearby Tirupur did not reveal any explosive substance, police said.
Sniffer dogs and bomb squads scoured at the canteen, that sells food at subsidised rate, after the Police Control Room received an anonymous call around 10 am stating that a bomb planted at the eatery would explode within 24 hours, police said.
The call turned out to be hoax after a thorough search after vacating all the customers and staff did not reveal any explosives, they said.
