Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu: An amount of Rs 10 lakh, out of the total of Rs 3 crore kept on a table in the locker room of a State Bank of India branch in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu for dispatch to various ATMs, was reported missing today, police said.
The manager and four staffers of the branch at SIDCO Industrial Estate in Coimbatore had kept the money on table for sending it to various ATMs by a security van, police said.
However, 10 bundles containing Rs 10 lakh, each in the denomination of Rs 1,000, was found missing during the mandatory recounting, they said.
The CCTV camera in the branch had not been functioning for the last two days, said police.
