Bangalore:
Controversial godman Nithyananda underwent a potency test at a Bangalore hospital today, after a court ordered him to do so as part of the investigation into allegations of sexual abuse filed by a former devotee.
The self-declared godman, who has been accused of rape and arrested in 2010, underwent a series of tests at Bangalore's Victoria Hospital today.
Nithyananda had earlier told a Bangalore court that is trying him that he is like a child and not capable of having sex; the court had then ordered a series of medical tests. He had approached the Supreme Court to appeal against the tests but the court had ruled that the tests will have to be conducted.
Dr T Durgana, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, told media personnel that Nithyananda had cooperated and that results of the tests would be ready within two days.
After the tests, Nithyananda left the hospital in an ambulance, but Dr Durgana said that was only because the tests had left him fatigued.
