Coimbatore: About 2,500 people, including school children, today joined the 'Kovai Marathon 2013', covering 19 kilometer, organised by NGP Group of Institutions and Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital (KMCH) in Coimbatore.
With the theme 'Cure Child Cancer', the marathon was flagged off by Dr Nalla G Palanisamy, Chairman, KMCH, in which doctors, staff of hospital and educational institutions and relatives and students participated.
The unique feature of the marathon was the school children's run, covering five kilometer.
The winners were awarded cash prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 for the first three places in each category of Doctors, staff, students and children.
