Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu:
The district administration has taken up cyclone relief measures on a war-footing in Tamil Nadu.
Fisheries Minister K A Jayapaul visited various cyclone-hit areas in Tarangambadi, Mayiladuthurai and Sirkazhi taluks today along with officials of district administration.
Later, speaking to PTI, Jayapaul said at Tarangambadi and Sirkazhi areas a total of 12 relief camps were functioning.
District Collector T Munusamy said that more than 650 electric posts have been damaged in the district and TNEB personnel from neighbouring districts had arrived for rectifying it.
Officials have been instructed to ensure proper drinking water supply in the affected areas, he said.
