Coimbatore: About 80 activists belonging to Naam Tamilar Katchi were arrested today when they attempted to resort to picketing at Anaikatty, bordering Tamil Nadu and Kerala, to protest against Kerala's move to construct a check dam across Siruvani river.
The workers, led by Karavannan, State coordinator of the party, floated by Tamil film director Seeman, raised slogans against Kerala Government, police said.
All the workers were arrested when they were proceeding to stage picketing on the road to block the traffic, they said.
