Chennai:
A 150 kg, eight-foot-long dolphin and three baby dolphins stuck in the Cooum river mouth were rescued by the Coast Guard on Wednesday.
The dolphins had got stuck in the shallow patch about 200 metres from the river mouth and were struggling to get into the water, a Coast Guard press release said.
Noticing some 'unusual' sounds from the area, Coast Guard Sub-Ordinate Officer R Dhiman with the help of some civilians and local fishermen went to the spot, rescued the dolphins and let them out to sea, it said.
