Bangalore: Janata Dal Secular (JDS) MLC (Member of legislative Council) E Krishnappa has filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Karnataka High Court in a complaint filed against him on an illegal land dentofication case.
On April 9, the Lokayukta court judge N K Sudhindra Rao directed Bangalore Urban SP Lokayukta to conduct investigation into the charges and submit a report by May 21.
A complaint filed on March 27 against Krishnappa of allegedly getting 29.3 guntas (about 32,000 square feet) of "Gomala" land in Bangalore North Taluk denotified for "pecuniary gain" in 2009 when JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy was the Chief Minister.
Besides Krishnappa, the four others accused in the case are KN Prakash, Muniraju, Premnath Reddy and Vijay Kumar.
