Chennai: DMK chief M Karunanidhi, whose party is a key ally of the Congress led UPA at the Centre, today said the poll results of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh showed the senior ally's growth.
"The poll results of the two states show the Congress is growing and BJP weakening," he told reporters in Chennai.
Mr Karunanidhi's remarks came even as Gujarat chief minster Narendra Modi secured a third consecutive term while his party BJP ceded defeat in Himachal Pradesh.
