Salem, Tamil Nadu:
A final year engineering student and five others were arrested today on the charge of attacking a 53-year-old police personnel in a bus following a quarrel, police in Salem, Tamil Nadu said.
Assistant Police Sub-Inspector of Salem Steel Plant station Chinnaraj was returning home after election duty in nearby Sankari when a wordy duel broke out between him and the student of an engineering college in Coimbatore over a petty issue.
Five other passengers also joined the quarrel which ended in a scuffle. The six were arrested on charge of voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation and rioting, police said.
