Shimoga, Karnataka:
Two villagers have been arrested for allegedly placing explosives in the Tyagarthi forest area near Shikaripura in the district to kill wild animals and 160 locally manufactured 'bombs' seized from them last evening, police said.
Forest watchers patrolling the area arrested the two villagers hailing from nearby Kappanahalli on the charge of placing bombs in the path of wild animals to kill them.
Officials said another person was absconding and efforts were on to nab him.
The accused were produced before a local court on Thursday and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
