Bangalore: Busting a fake currency racket, city police have nabbed nine persons and seized counterfeit notes with a total face value of Rs 40 lakh and several firearms from them, a top police official said.
Six of the nine persons hail from Indo-Bangladesh border area, one from Bangalore and two from Tamil Nadu, City Police Commissioner Jyothiprakash Mirji said.
Three carbines, stenguns, six pistols, 0.22 mm 40 live bullets and 9 mm 20 live bullets were recovered them, he said.
These weapons were to be circulated among the local rowdies, Mirji said.
