Bangalore: Farmers in Karnataka on Wednesday staged a protest march under the banner of Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene demanding waiver of farm credit, permanent measures to check drought among others.
Hundreds of farmers marched from the railway station to Freedom Park and police stopped them when they tried to reach the Vidhana Soudha, the State Secretariat.
The agitating farmers were pacified by Agriculture Department Principle Secretary Baburao Mudubi, who assured to bring their demands to the notice of the Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda.
