Fire in match factory, elderly woman killed in Tamil Nadu

Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: A 65-year-old woman died and two others were injured in a fire at a match factory at Kolakattakuruchi near Sankarankovil in Tirunelveli on Tuesday.

Police said the mishap occurred when the woman was dragging a bundle of match boxes to clear the area for sweeping and the resultant friction triggered the fire which gutted the factory.

The two injured women have been admitted to hospital, they said.
