New Delhi: The police have filed FIRs against DMK president M Karunanidhi and his son and party treasurer MK Stalin in connection with a clash between their supporters and AIADMK workers.

The clash took place after the AIADMK workers held protests against the DMK near Mr Karunanidhi's Gopalapuram residence over the conviction of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in the assets case.

Later, the AIADMK men filed a complaint claiming armed DMK workers had attacked them, police said.

On the basis of the complaint, three FIRs were filed at the Royapettah police station against Mr Karunanidhi and his son, and several others.

The charges include rioting, carrying arms, voluntarily causing hurt 336 and criminal intimidation, the police said.
