Hyderabad: Five persons, including four children, drowned after they fell into a pit near Kruchedu village in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh today, police said.
The pit at Gangadonkonda was dug up recently and filled with rain water, they said.
The deceased - all cattle-grazers - included two girls, two boys and a woman.
They went to the pit after seeing some of the cattle slipping into it, the police said. The police said that they fell into the pit while trying to save each other.
Their bodies were fished out later, the police said.
