Bangalore: Five people have been arrested for the murder of a woman, police said on Wednesday.
The five were taken into custody on November 28 when they were plotting to carry out a dacoity and were found moving in a suspicious manner in Vyalikaval area of the city.
On interrogation, they admitted to strangulating a woman, who was alone at home at Viratnagar in Bommanahalli, on November 23. They gained entry under the pretext of enquiring about houses available on rent. They then attacked her, tied her hands and legs, and murdered her.
They had decamped with gold jewellery valued at Rs 7.13 lakh and Rs 37,000.
