Hyderabad: Five persons, including four women, were killed and nine others injured on Thursday when their pick-up van hit a stationary vehicle in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh, police said.
According to police, the mishap occurred near Bhongir bypass road at around 2 am when the driver of the four-wheeler rammed into a stationary vehicle resulting in the death of five persons, including four women. Nine other occupants who were injured in the incident were shifted to a nearby hospital, police added.
The victims, who are natives of Puligilla village under Valigonda mandal of Nalgonda district, were returning from Hyderabad when the accident took place, a police officer said, adding further investigations were on.
