Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday crossed the 800-kilometre milestone in his ongoing 'Vastunna...Meekosam' foot march, when he reached Budera village under Andhole Assembly constituency in neighbouring Medak district.

The former Chief Minister, who launched his walkathon on October 2 in Anantapur district to study the problems being faced by people under the Congress government's "misrule", so far covered 327 villages spread over 20 Assembly onstituencies in five districts.

The 63-year-old leader has been drawing huge response to his yatra in all the districts as he is mingling with all sections of people.

Even in Telangana region, which was once a bastion of the TDP, the Leader of Opposition has been drawing huge crowds as he could effectively counter the propaganda that he was blocking the creation of a separate state.

"I was never against Telangana and will never be. We will clarify our party's stand if the Centre convenes an all-party meeting on the statehood issue," Mr Chandrababu has been repeatedly asserting.

He has also been driving home the point that it was only during the TDP's rule that Telangana region witnessed "unprecedented" development.

His wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh and other family members joined Mr Chandrababu in the padyatra in Medak district.

The TDP supremo is telling people what all his government did between 1994 and 2004 to lead Andhra Pradesh on the path to progress and also "admitting" the "follies", if any.

"What all I did was in the interest of the state. We put AP on the international map and lead other states in the country in development. The subsequent Congress regime ruined all that and pushed the state backward by 20 years by destroying all the systems," is Mr Chandrababu's refrain.
