Haveri: Former MLA and Janata Parivar leader Neelakantagouda V Patil was today crushed to death under the tractor he was driving at Madli village in Haveri district, police said.
He was 74 and is survived by three sons.
Patil, who was tilling the land, accidentally fell down and came under the wheels of the tractor, they said.
He had won as independent from Shiggoan assembly constituency in 1983 and later joined the Janata Party.
Minister for Water Resources Basavaraj Bommai expressed grief over Patil's death.
