Hyderabad: Four persons were killed while one was injured due to electrocution after metal pipes held by them touched a live electric wire at a bus stop during heavy rains last evening, police said in Hyderabad.
Police said the incident occurred due to some 'earthing problem' in wires, supplying electricity to nearby establishments, which came in contact with metal pipes carried by one of the victims.
"They had taken shelter in a bus stop since it was raining," a police official said.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police V B Kamalasan Reddy, all those who died hailed from Madhya Pradesh.
The injured person has been admitted to a hospital, he said.
The victims worked as labourers in a circus company and an investigation is on, he said.
