Virudhunagar: A four-year-old girl of Venduvarayapuram village in this district succumbed to dengue fever today, officials said.
Her four-month old brother died a few days ago succumbing to suspected dengue. Both of them suffered from high temperature and were receiving treatment for over two weeks at a private hospital in Madurai, officials said.
Eight children aged between 3-12 from the same village had been admitted to hospitals with dengue symptoms, the Public department officials said.
A team of Public health department officials were camping in the village and distributing tablets and taking preventive measures to check the spread of dengue.
The reappearance of dengue when it had been brought under control in other districts was a cause of concern, an official said.
