Fourteen killed in two separate road mishaps in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Fourteen persons, including four women and two children were killed and two others were injured in two separate road accidents in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, police said.

As many as 10 persons, including four women and two children, who were on a pilgrimage from Bangalore, were killed when their Toyota Qualis collided head-on with a lorry between Atmakur and Velgodu villages in Kurnool district at around 3.45 pm, the police added.

"The victims, all from Bangalore, were on their way to Mahanandi after visiting Srisailam when the mishap occurred," a police official said.

In another incident, four persons were killed and two others injured when their car hit a road-divider before ramming into a lorry near Bhongir by-pass road in Nalgonda district after midnight, police said, adding that the victims belonged to Hyderabad.
