Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh: An 18-year-old girl was set on fire by a youth at her house on the Venumadha Swamy temple street in Pithapuram town of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, police said.
Keerit Revati, the girl, who received more than 80 per cent burns, was admitted to a government hospital at Kakinada. Doctors said her condition was critical.
Accused Muppidivarapu Naveen (24), a painter by profession, was harassing her for some time, after professing his love for her.
On Wednesday, he went to her house, poured kerosene on her, and set her ablaze, they said.
