Kozhikode: Officials of Directorate of Revenue Intellegence (DRI) have seized gold ornaments and gold bars weighing three-and-a-half kilograms and valued at over Rs 96 lakh from a passenger who arrived at Karippur International airport in an Emirates flight.
Acting on a tip-off, the DRI officials searched the bag of 36-year-old old Abdul Sameer of Vadakara in the district, who arrived at the airport by a Dubai-Calicut Emirates flight last night and seized the gold articles, official sources said.
He has been taken into custody for questioning, the sources said.
