Harassed by in-laws, woman commits suicide

Bangalore: Allegedly harassed for dowry by her in-laws, a 28-year-old housewife committed suicide by consuming poison, police said on Tuesday.

According to a complaint lodged by the parents of the deceased, she was allegedly being harassed by her in-laws for more dowry for the past few months.

"However, the real cause is yet to be ascertained", police said, adding that she was married to a 32-year-old man for the past four years and had an 11-month-old son.
