Hyderabad:
Gold jewellery weighing nearly 30 kg was looted from a showroom in Punjagutta area in Hyderabad, police said today.
The CCTV footage of the Tanishq showroom showed an unidentified person entering the premises from the rear side last night and decamping with the booty, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma said.
"Special teams have been formed by the central crime station officials. We are verifying the visuals and investigation will go into all angles," Sharma told PTI.
A senior police official said though only one person was visible in the video footage, they cannot rule out the possibility of involvement of others.
The official also said the value of the jewellery cannot be ascertained immediately as the assessment is still going on.
"Police have collected some vital information which we cannot share at this point," he said.
A case has been filed based on a complaint from the showroom officials.
