Hyderabad:
Thieves struck at a house of an NRI at Chanchalguda area in Hyderabad and decamped with gold ornaments, Rs 8 lakh in cash and 12,000 Canadian dollars, police said today.
The incident occurred late last night at the residence of one Maqbul Ali Khan and gold jewellery weighing 96 tola (960 grams), and cash, besides other valuable items, were stolen and the door locks were found broken, Dabeerpura police said, based on the complaint.
The family members had gone to a function hall when the incident occurred and police suspect that the thieves scaled the wall of the house and entered it after breaking the door locks. Further investigations are on.
