Hyderabad: Man who attempted suicide near Raj Bhavan dies

Hyderabad: A private firm employee from Kadapa district, who had allegedly attempted suicide near Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad by consuming pesticide, today died while undergoing treatment at a hospital, police said.

Pavan Kumar (29) was found unconscious at Dilkusha guest house adjacent to Raj Bhavan on Friday with a bottle of pesticide, they said.

He was carrying a note which mentioned that "he was resorting to the extreme step depressed over not getting back his amount that was paid to a person in Kadapa," police said.

Kumar was immediately hospitalised after the incident and he succumbed today while undergoing treatment, Punjagutta Inspector Mohan Kumar said.

Police had earlier registered a case against him under Section 309 (attempt to commit suicide) of IPC which will now be altered, he said.

Pavan Kumar, in his note, had claimed that though he had complained to the police in Kadapa in this regard, no action was initiated to redress his grievance.
