Hyderabad: A teenager was allegedly raped by a youth on the pretext of marriage in Hayathnagar on city outskirts, police said today.
The accused Prashant, a degree student, allegedly developed physical relationship with the 16-year-old girl over the past five months after promising that he would marry her.
However, he started avoiding her recently, they said based on a complaint lodged by the victim.
Following the complaint, the Hayathnagar police booked a case of rape against Prashant and launched a hunt to nab him, Police Inspector G Srinivas Kumar said.
