Kadapa:
Police and Revenue Department personnel have seized illegally stored foodgrains worth Rs 7.63 crore from private godowns at Proddatur near Kadapa, an official said.
The seizure was made after conducing raids at private godowns since Saturday, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) Venkatanatha Reddy said at a press meet in Kadapa.
During the operation, 1,935 quintals of black-gram, 86 quintals of fried-gram, 46,636 bags of paddy and 5,887 quintals of sunflower were seized, he said.
Cases were registered against godown owners Ahammad Dalmill, Satya Srinivas Dalmill and Balaji Dalmill, Mr Reddy added.
