The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) on Wednesday cleared 25 proposals entailing investments of Rs 40,379 crore in different industrial sectors.
The proposals were cleared at a meeting of SIPB chaired by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and attended by Major Industries Minister J Geeta Reddy, Small-Scale Industries Minister Prasad Kumar, Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi and other top officials.
Of these, the State Government had already signed Memoranda of Understanding with the promoters of 20 projects during the Partnership Summit held in Hyderabad in January. The other five proposals were received directly in recent months, according to a release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
The highest investment of Rs 20,980 crore would go into 13 cement manufacturing units, creating employment for 18,980 persons. Chemical and fertiliser sector will attract an investment of Rs 16,673 crore and create 12,500 jobs, it said.
The proposed industrial units would come up in 12 districts spread across the state with Krishna topping the list with investment proposals to the tune of Rs 12,940 crore, the CMO said.
The Chief Minister wanted the Industries department to follow up all the investment proposals and ensure that they materialised, the release said.
