Hyderabad: The CBI custody of YSR Congress Party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has been extended by two more days today. Mr Reddy was arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI on May 27 in a disproportionate assets case and has been lodged in the Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad where the investigating agency is questioning him. The Andhra Pradesh High Court had last week given his custody to CBI till June 7.

Mr Reddy was questioned for the fourth time by the CBI on Wednesday about the flow of investments into Jagati Publications, Indira Television and Janani Infrastructure Pvt Ltd - promoted and owned by Mr Reddy and also about the land and buildings in the name of these three firms, agency sources said.

The agency is, however, reportedly not happy with his answers and may seek further extension in custody.

The CBI, in its three charge sheets filed so far, has accused Mr Reddy of getting investments of several crore rupees from firms into his own businesses as part of quid pro quo, when his father late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, or YSR as he is popularly known, was the chief minister.

The CBI also called in Information Technology Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah for questioning today in connection with Mr Reddy's case. Mr Laxmaiah will be the fourth minister to be questioned by the CBI.

Mr Laxmaiah was the irrigation minister when Mr Reddy's father was the chief minister and is among the six ministers who were sent show-cause notices by the Supreme Court asking them to explain their role in the issuance of 26 Government Orders that are said to have benefitted Mr Reddy.
