Mangalore: Noted writer and lyricist Jayanth Kaikini has been chosen for the annual Dr Kota Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti - 2014 award.
The annual award is instituted by the Kotathattu Gram Panchayat in Udupi district of Karnataka in memory of late writer Dr Kota Shivaram Karanth.
Mr Kaikini has been chosen for the award in recognition of his contribution to the field of literature and lyrics, a statement said.
The award would be presented on October 10 coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mr Karanth.
