Coimbatore: Three people from Kannur including a 70-year-old woman were killed and eight others injured when the van in which they were travelling met with an accident near Udumalpet in Tirupur district early Tuesday morning.
The mishap occurred when the van driver lost control of the vehicle near a bridge, police said.
The occupants of the van were from Kannur in Kerala and were on a visit to Palani and Kodaikanal, they said.
The injured have been hospitalised.
