Belgaum: In a suspected case of dishonour killing, a couple were allegedly hacked to death at Lolsluru, 50 kms away from Gokak town, police said today.
Netra, 20, and Vithal Kuri, 26, were allegedly murdered on August 13 by the girl's father and her relatives as they were opposed to the inter-caste marriage.
However the attackers spared the couple's seven month old daughter, police said.
The girl's father and two others have been arrested on a complaint from Vithal's brother, they said.
Netra had eloped with Vithal in 2009 and married him.
However, they had returned to Lolsluru village recently and were living there ever since.
This is the third such incident reported in Karnataka after a college teacher in Mysore and another girl in Maddur in Mandya district were killed in cases of dishonour killing.
