Bangalore:
Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar today promised Rs 25 crore allocation for implementing the Youth Policy in the state.
Speaking after receiving the draft policy presented to him by the Department of Youth Services, Sports and Karnataka Knowledge Commission, he said the government will accord top priority for implementing the policy.
A separate corporation for the welfare of youth would also be set up, he said.
"The draft youth policy has a vision to reach, engage and empower the youth in the state", Minister for Sports and Youth Services Appacchu Ranjan said.
Deputy Chief minister K S Eswarappa, Youth Services Department Director M K Baladevakrishna, Prof M K Sridhar, Member Secretary of the Karnataka Knowledge Commission, Jain University pro Vice-Chancellor Sandeep Shastri, Sports Authority of Karnataka Vice-President Girish Patel and others were present.
